Stubby Pencil Studio began with a simple idea: creativity should be part of everyday life.
When my twin daughters were little, I was looking for a more meaningful way to help them write thank you notes for birthday gifts. What started as a small line of interactive coloring cards quickly resonated with families who wanted something more personal, creative, and memorable than a traditional greeting card.
Those first coloring cards transformed a simple thank you note into a creative experience. Children could color, create, and share something uniquely their own. The response was overwhelming, and what began at our kitchen table in 2006 grew into Stubby Pencil Studio.
Today, our shop has grown far beyond coloring cards. You'll find an eclectic collection of artist tools, premium pencils, artisan stationery, handmade gifts, original art, and lifestyle goods for people who notice the difference.
While our shop has evolved over the years, one thing has never changed.
We believe creativity deserves beautiful tools.
The things we bring into our homes should be useful, beautiful, and made to last. Every product we carry is selected for its craftsmanship, originality, and ability to inspire creativity in everyday life. We only stock products we'd proudly use at home, in the studio, or give as gifts to the people we love.
Long before it was common practice, we looked for products made with 100% post-consumer recycled paper, FSC-certified wood, and natural materials. Not because they were trendy, but because we believed they were better products.
Whether you're picking out crayons for a future artist, coloring cards to brighten someone's day, a fresh set of pencils for journaling, a unique gift for your best friend, or original artwork for your home, you're choosing the work of independent artists, skilled makers, and small businesses that believe thoughtful craftsmanship still matters.
Thank you for supporting our small business and the people behind the products we proudly carry.
